Vancouver Whitecaps FC are expanding their impact beyond the professional pitch through a unique community initiative designed to grow the game of soccer throughout B.C.
Led by the popular soccer club, through a $13 million partnership with the Province of British Columbia and viaSport, the collaborative Mini Peaks Legacy Project has ambitious goals to build up to 20 mini-pitches throughout B.C. The initiative is part of B.C.’s broader legacy program tied to the FIFA World Cup 2026 in June and July.Designed to revitalize existing community spaces, the mini soccer pitches, which measure 60’ by 120’, will create safe, accessible places for youth to play, learn and connect through sport. Each economic region of B.C. will receive at least two mini-pitches. In addition to the program funders, BC Soccer Association, the Indigenous Sport and Recreation Council (I-SPARC) and Vancouver Rise FC are partners on this project.
